Sorcerer - Spider-Blooded Origin

A gray-skinned figure wears a copper spider mask, surrounded by webs

A Spider-Blooded sorcerer may be revered, they may be despised, but they are definitely feared. Their specialty is spinning webs (always literal, sometimes metaphorical), poisoning their enemies, and generally lurking just out of sight, waiting to pounce.

Role-wise, Spider-blooded sorcerers are quite focused on control and single-target lockdown. Ensnaring Magic & Spider's Venom let them make their enemy miserable from level 1. Shade Lurker and Spider's Blood make them tough to track down and a bit more resilient if you do catch them. Paralytic Poison really ramps the single-target misery up to 11, and Spider-Blessed at 17 displays the true power of whatever fell influence made them who they are.

Design-wise: this one actually took a bit of time; coming up with a first-level ability I liked without breaking the bank was tricky. I think Ensnaring Magic fits the bill; it's on the strong side for sure, but accordingly expensive. Its free cast is less because it's essential, and more because I needed to hand out a style-defining feature at 1, when they wouldn't actually have the sorcery points they need to cast it. A later revision actually might include another pass on the spell list; as-is, it doesn't actually include that much poison damage. If this hits your table, I'd strongly suggest pairing it with KibblesTasty's Generic Elemental Spells, which should add a good number of balanced options.
