Monk - Way of the Rift

Portal of Sanctuary, by Randy Vargas

The Way of the Rift is a monk whose meditative practice teaches them about the very fabric of the universe - specifically, how to tear that fabric and hurl themselves from one end of the battlefield to the other!

The Way of the Rift is inspired by KibblesTasty's Psion class, and is a sort of counterpart to his Soul Blade monk. It reuses the Psion's Transposition discipline - a psionic power that tears holes directly through space, teleporting a warrior around the battlefield. Rift monks, then, are fantastically mobile and very difficult to pin down.

Their Ki-Fueled Transposition lets them spend ki to tear open phase rifts, or on a variety of movement- and teleport-themed spells. Portal Scholar reflects their study of the multiverse's dimensions. Rift Recovery refunds ki spent on Phase Rifts. Leap of the Wind augments their Step of the Wind, increasing the distance of their phase rifts (and therefore the number of targets they can damage with them). Baleful Teleport lets them punt enemies through a Phase Rift directly, while Rift Strike amplifies their attacks after using a Transposition power. As a pseudocapstone, Planar Attunement reduces the cost of all their transposition abilities, producing a teleporting terror on the battlefield.

As always, you're invited to come discuss and offer feedback on Discord! I'm also running a raffle and a homebrew contest through the end of the month, with homebrew commissions and artwork commissions available as prizes. Come check it out!
